50+ Network

The 50+ Network is a group that provides opportunities for those of us over age 50 to interact socially.

It is a network intended to be complementary to other groups and networks, so that people can attend these too, with the 50+ Network providing a range of extra social activities to help us bond together as a fellowship family. We therefore want anyone who is 50ish or more to feel that they can be involved in the network as much or as little as they want, joining in as and when they wish. At the same time we want people to know that there is fun, friendship, companionship and support for each other to be found through this network.

We are also seeking ways to contribute to the life of St George’s, following on from the discussions at the initial meetings held in February and May 2011, and which will include mentoring.

 50 Plus Network -WEEKEND AWAY

Following our successful weekend away last year at Cober Hill, Cloughton near Scarborough www.coberhill.co.uk we have arranged another weekend from Friday 14th - Sunday 16th of September. Double, twin and single rooms are available. The cost is £131.50 per person which includes VAT and all meals, starting with dinner on Friday, the option of a packed lunch on Saturday instead of a hot meal and ending with lunch on Sunday.

We anticipate activities to deepen and renew relationships and form new friendships. This is also an event to which we can easily invite friends. There will be a short epilogue each evening and a "thought for the day" each morning.

To book a place please contact Elsie at 50plus@stgeorgesleeds.org.uk by 15th March as Cober Hill requires confirmation of numbers by this date. A non refundable deposit of £30 will then be required by April 23rd. You can either give me cash or cheques made payable to Elsie Haith.

Please do email 50plus@stgeorgesleeds.org.uk if you would like further information.
