Asylum Seekers
St George's welcomes asylum seekers and refugees from all over the world. God is calling his church to care for the needy, the destitute and the stranger; our vision to help asylum seekers is three-fold: practical help, spiritual care and challenging injustice.
All asylum seekers and refugees are welcome to come and worship with us at St George's on Sundays. In addition, we also have a Persian-speaking group (the Farsi Group) that meets for Bible study, worship and prayer on Wednesdays at 7pm.
St George's offers all members the opportunity to provide practical support to the many asylum seekers who face daily hardship and uncertainty, and to enable their voice to be heard.

English Classes
St George's English classes run on Mondays from 6pm to 7:30pm in the Church Centre. We have a meal together before the class from 5:15pm. The class is free and we teach using the ESOL textbooks. Anyone who is an asylum seeker or refugee will always be welcome. If you'd like to volunteer at the English Classes, you can volunteer as a teacher (no previous teaching experience is needed) or as a cook. For more information please email Victoria Bull or Lindy Spicer (stgeorges_englishclass@hotmail.co.uk).
