Members
of the St George's Church staff team introduce themselves in their own words.
Beth Tash
"I’m Beth from (near) Coventry…fairly loud,
a (not too) brummie chick, creative, love trying new things, meeting new
people, going new places, always looking for an adventure. Into outdoors
stuff, cooking, netball, aerobics, music, movies….and massively
passionate about mission.
I’m the Youth Worker at St George's Church.
Jesus has had me from the start. I remember saying a little prayer asking
God to come into my life when I was 7 which God has totally honoured throughout
all the growing up. Sometimes it seemed pretty easy to be a Christian, but
they were often the ‘double life’ times, when you ‘do’
God like you can ‘do’ church, and not live for Him in an extreme
daily way. Going on mission trips to South Africa, Peru and Mexico just blew
my experience of God apart. He showed me how amazing, tough and faith-building
it is to have to have prayer as a constant life-line, what’s its like
to actually know Jesus, to chat to him, worship him, be forgiven and changed
by him, and trust in his promises. Sometimes, even now, I hit a tough patch
and it all seems like effort, but the adventure that God offers, of always
being able to know him more, know his love more, and do more stuff together
is so exciting….then there’s heaven to look forward to. Bring
it on!
I’ve just finished a degree in International Development and Theology
at Leeds
I’m really excited about getting to know the young people, seeing them
hanging out with Jesus and being radically loved, empowered and used by him.
How amazing if we had a community of teenagers who knew God’s love for
themselves and for each other, who made space to meet with God in their own
style, loved the Bible, who prayed and saw prayers answered and were sold
out on serving the church, their mates, schools, families, the city, other
countries…..
Some of my favourite things/people
are Desmond Tutu, ice-cream, Bridget Jones, sunshine, long walks and one day
I want to be an aerobics instructor and live in South Africa (not necessarily
at the same time)."
