PRAYER MINISTRY
It is a vital part of 'being church' that Christians come together to care and pray for one another, and to bring each other's needs to God. We encourage all church members to pray together at all sorts of times and occasions.

Within this wider ministry of prayer, St George's Prayer Ministry Team exists and are authorised to offer prayer ministry during and after Sunday services, in other church events and sometimes informally during the week.

CHRISTIAN LISTENING
People feeling anxious, distressed or going through some kind of crisis often need someone with whom to share. Whilst house groups or friends will provide the right environment for many people, there will be some for whom, for a variety of reasons, this will not be the case. They may then turn to the staff for help, but the staff have a limited capacity. The ministry of listening, praying and bringing God's presence to the problem is shared between the staff and others in the congregation. If you would like someone to talk to, in confidence, this can be arranged by contacting a member of the Church staff.

TRAINING in LISTENING SKILLS

There will be people in the congregation who recognise God's call to be involved in pastoral care, but feel inadequately equipped to respond. There are training courses, both Christian and secular, where listening skills can be learned through teaching and participation. These skills can be used in the Church and in the workplace.
