The picture of pastoral care presented by the New Testament is that of each member of the Body of Christ caring for their brothers and sisters in Christ and sharing the gifts God has given them.

Within a larger church, small groups in which people can relate to others are vital for good pastoral care. We seek to co-ordinate pastoral care in a way that is both structured and flexible.

All members of St George's are encouraged to make membership of such a small group a priority. For most people this will involve membership of a House Group. Other such groups include the Wednesday Fellowship, the Mums' Group and the Alpha Course.

The Pastoral Support Group exists to review, co-ordinate and encourage pastoral care within the church. It meets monthly with a view to sharing situations that are a cause for concern, prayer, support and advice.

Members of the Group have different briefs; the following individuals may be contacted via the church office:

Housegroup Support

Clive Owen
Judith Jackson
John Burkett

Other - Welcoming, Listening And Counselling, Lunchtime Holy Communion (for older Church members) and Alpha Plus group
Please contact the church office who will put you in touch with the staff member responsible for pastoral care.
