Welcome!
If you are arriving in Leeds in September 2008, we are looking forward to welcoming you. St George’s is a vibrant and lively city centre Anglican church, where students are a very important part of church life. We welcome undergraduates, postgraduates, those from the UK and those from abroad.
As part of the church vision, St George's seeks to be a place where students can find a clear way in to the Christian faith and the church, a clear way on as we grow together as followers of Jesus, and a clear way out in mission and evangelism.
Regular programme
There are two Sunday services, each with slightly different focuses: the morning service at 10.30am has very much a family feel (but is home to people from all walks of life), while the evening service at 6.30pm is aimed more towards students and 20s and 30s. The congregation is large and the style informal. We meet together for worship, teaching and ministry. Before the evening service, at 5.30pm, student teas are served in the church centre.
The student small group meets weekly in term time.

If you are looking for some answers or have a friend who is asking questions, Alpha is a user friendly exploration of the Christian faith for anyone, whatever their background. Each evening consists of a meal and a talk followed by discussion in small groups.
Getting involved
St George’s provides all sorts of activities for students to get stuck into. Whether it’s discipleship, outreach, worship, AV, working with kids and young people, asylum seekers, the homeless, other students; take your pick. See the Information Desk at the back of church for more details.
